Who we are

Rather than expecting dogs to think like humans, our goal is to help you learn to think like a dog.

In order to teach them, we first have to understand them.

Think Like a Dog Podcast offers new perspectives, vital resources, and the support you need on your journey toward a more balanced dog and a healthier and happier relationship with them.

Each episode delves into critical aspects of training, from establishing strong puppy foundations to transforming reactivity into healthy coping mechanisms. We also provide an in-depth look at our Best Chance Program, a rescue initiative focused on training and preparing dogs for success. This program emphasizes the importance of educating fosters and adopters to ensure lasting, positive outcomes for every dog.

We bring on expert guests from across the United States, including professional trainers and other dog specialists, to share their insights and experiences. We also feature episodes that include real training consultations with dog owners, allowing listeners to hear custom training advice and solutions for specific challenges.

Whether you’re seeking to refine your training methods, gain professional insights, or deepen your understanding of the human-dog bond, Think Like a Dog Podcast delivers thoughtful, actionable content for dog owners at every stage.

FOUNDER OF OZZIE ALBIES FOUNDATION

MILLIE BRADEN

OWNER & LEAD TRAINER OF MIRROR IMAGE K9

Think Like a Dog Podcast began as a shared vision between two passionate advocates for dogs, Millie Braden and Andreia Albies. Their journey started in 2022, when Andreia, founder of the Ozzie Albies Foundation, reached out to Millie, owner and lead trainer of Mirror Image K9, to help train her recently adopted dog, Bubbles. That one session sparked a transformative partnership.

Millie Braden has been working with dogs since 2008 and began delving into training in 2016. She officially founded Mirror Image K9 in 2020 and opened its state-of-the-art behavior center in 2022. At Mirror Image K9, Millie and her team offer a range of services, including individual, group, and virtual training, as well as a structured day camp designed to teach dogs healthy social skills. Millie’s approach emphasizes relationship and psychology-based training, helping owners build meaningful, connection based partnerships with their dogs.

Andreia Albies, along with her husband, Ozzie Albies, founded the Ozzie Albies Foundation in 2022. Having grown up in Curaçao and Brazil, Andreia witnessed firsthand the struggles of stray dog populations and was inspired to make a lasting impact. The foundation partners with local shelters to raise awareness about adoption and provide critical support for animals and their future families.

After seeing the positive outcomes relationship-based training had on her own pack, Andreia realized the impact it could have in the rescue world. If more people knew how to understand and fulfill their dogs, we’d have less dogs in need of homes. This passion led to the creation of the Best Chance Program, a foster-based rescue initiative co-founded with Millie. The program prioritizes training and education to ensure every foster and adopter is equipped to provide dogs with the skills needed to transition into permanent, fulfilling homes.

Together, Millie and Andreia launched Think Like a Dog Podcast to expand their mission. Through the podcast, they educate dog owners about the principles of relationship and psychology-based training. They cover everything from puppy foundations to managing reactivity, share real training consultations, and feature guests from across the country, including trainers and other dog professionals. By sharing their knowledge and experiences, Millie and Andreia aim to improve the lives of dogs and their owners while reducing the number of dogs in need of homes.
